Watches With GPS - Garmin Forerunner Advanced Workouts

Watches with GPS are perhaps one of the more sophisticated innovations in performance and fitness tools to have hit the market recently. Sports Watches that features GPS are useful for any athlete who is involved in running, cycling, rowing and other motion sports.

GPS watches can track your pace, speed, distance traveled and can plot your course on a map. The most advanced offer a suite of fitness functions that cater to almost any athlete's demands.

The most popular GPS sports watches are currently Garmin's Forerunner line.

Garmin have just released two new upgrades to their most popular models, the Forerunner 405CX (supersedes the Forerunner 405) and the 310XT (supersedes the Forerunner 305).

Perhaps one of the reasons why the Forerunner watches have become such a hit amongst athletes is the strength of it's fitness features. Forerunner sports modes like "Workouts", allow athletes the ability to create just about any combination of structured training session one can imagine. The watch's display can also be heavily customized to show read-outs that include just about any real-time field possible, with the option of cycling through several pages of data-fields in mid session.

The Forerunner workout types include advanced and simple workouts, heart rate and interval workouts. The workouts allow the creation of a structured work out including warm-up, cool-down and in some cases intervals.

The Advanced workout feature is very much like the feature name suggests - it is a watch mode that allows the creation of complex sessions. Unlike the other types of workouts, Advanced workouts structures the workout in a series of steps. Goals at each stage can be configured and the sessions scheduled in the watch's calendar. The watch will issue a reminder when your schedule for the day is due.

The advanced workout features is handy in the gym, when you might be switching between a number of different apparatus or could be used to create a loosely structure Fartlek running sessions.

The Forerunner will display the name of each step during a current workout, your goal if you have set one and all other relevant workout data. As you near the end of a step, an alarm counts down until the next step begins. The LAP/RESET button can be pressed to end an advanced workout early.

This is the world's smallest full-touch screen phone with a camera. It has a design that is 13.8 mm, but you know...size really doesn't matter. Due to technology in today's world, something so small as a cell phone can contain tons of features and this is very true when it comes to the Samsung Pixon.

The outside of this cell phone resembles the look of a small camera, which is really unique looking. Although, this cell phone is better than an actual camera, it also comes with a 3.2 inch full screen that has a Photo Browser with it. We purchased this cell phone because we got tired of those cell phones that resembled cameras but took bad pictures.

The function of this cell phone really does live up to its expectations and will make a great gift for your loved one. This phone was first available in France, then Europe and then Asia. The price within each country varies, but it is a price that is worth paying and in the long run could save you money.

The Trend iPod Built - The iPod Silhouette

The iPod silhouette is known all over the world. In fact, there doesn't have to be a name on the ad, or even a clear visual of the iPod product, and still the public knows that ad belongs to the always innovative Apple. A marketing strategy that took on a life of its own, now the iPod silhouette is an icon in and of itself - just like the device it was meant to market, the iPod.

When Apple was poised to market the iPod, they needed advertising that would stay in the minds of their customers. They wanted something that represented the coolness of the iPod, something that would change the face of advertising just as readily as the iPod could change the face of the music industry. The iPod was revolutionary, so the advertising had to be revolutionary, too.

The famous commercial for the iPod began with a person dancing, in shadow, against a brilliant colored background. The silhouette boogied to music while holding an iPod and listening to the tunes through the iconic earbuds, which appeared in white on the ads, so they stood out from the dancer and the background. The sight became so common that it soon had its own name: The Silhouette.

The ads were an instant hit, and the iPod campaign become recognizable practically overnight. The silhouette wasn't just popular on television - it was also common to see a silhouette, caught in a moment of wild dancing, on the side of a building or a billboard, iPod in hand. Occasionally an ad would appear with no iPod in sight, but the earbuds were featured - a sign that even the iPod accessories had entered into mainstream culture.

The silhouette ad has changed a little over the years, but it still involves the same classic style of a dancing silhouette against a contrasting background. In some cases, only part of the advertisement was in contrast. In a more recent ad to tout the new aluminum color of some iPod cases, the dancers are seen waving their iPods in the air, and a trail of luminescent light follows the device around the screen.

The silhouette ads were so popular that celebrities clamored to be featured in them. The ads developed their own following, with customers on the lookout for the new ones, and discussions about who might be featured next were common on message boards. The iPod silhouette began showing up in television shows. Soon the iPod silhouette had been represented by both trendsetters and legends, including U2, Mary J. Blige, Paul McCartney, Eminem and Bob Dylan.

The silhouette has made its way into other parts of popular culture as well. It is now a popular technique for wedding pictures, common among scrapbooking enthusiasts, and is often featured on posters and bumper stickers. Apple has always been on the cutting edge of advertising, but never was it more obvious than in the iPod silhouette ads, and the storm of appreciation that followed.

Review of Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 1080p LCD HDTV

The Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 46" 1080p LCD HDTV is an elegant looking set with its piano black frame. The black finish is reflective, but not annoyingly shiny like a mirror as long as you don't put it directly in front of a light source. It's a serious looking LCD HDTV with its black finish and anti-glare screen. Not only does it look nice aesthetically, but it looks awesome where it counts the most, the picture.

The picture, like the Sony Bravia V2500 models, looks amazing. No annoying glares will ruin your viewing experience and the fogging that hit some of the owners with the V2500 model is gone. If there are any, you must be unlucky. The Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 1080p LCD HDTV has a 60 Hz refresh rate while the higher end models have 120 Hz so the motion blurring will not be as smooth as the more expensive sets. That doesn't mean it's blurry though. It's still pretty smooth during fast action sequences and you probably won't be able to tell anyway when playing HD content.

The Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 1080p LCD HDTV up-scales 480i standard definition content with its Reality Creation Multi Function v1.0 technology and you can see that it truly helps make SD stuff less horrible than it otherwise should be. This basically means watching standard programming is good, but not at the level you're used to when watching with a CRT, but also not as bad as many other LCD TVs.

The black and the contrast is good unlike what has been expected of LCDs. The colors are rich and the picture comes to life more so than other LCD HDTVs. Side by side with the Samsung or Sharp, the Sony looked better. In fact it can even compete with some of the plasma TVs out there. Just switch to normal mode and not use vivid mode and make some tweaks from there to your liking and the image will be near perfect. Try sharpening the image and increasing the black.

Configuring the settings in the Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 1080p LCD HDTV is a breeze with the highly regarded XMB menu system that's also in the PS3. Speaking of the PS3, watching blu-ray on the KDL-46V3000 is simply stunning. If you don't have a PS3 or a Blu-Ray player, you need to get one if you're getting an HDTV. HD-DVD is dead.

The Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 1080p LCD HDTV does not have PIP or picture in picture, but it does have P&P or picture & picture. You can play video from two input sources at the same time, but only from HDMI, TV tuner, and video on the left side of the TV and component on the right. That means no watching HDMI & HDMI at the same time. It's not a deal breaker since the picture quality is way up there.

Sound quality is good should you choose not to invest in a home theater surround sound system, but it does lack some oomph in the bass department. It's much better than many LCD panels out there considering how small the piano black frame is.

I recommend the Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 1080p LCD HDTV if you don't want to spend a few extra Ben Franklins on the XBR4 and you don't want the older, but still excellent KDL-46V2500. You can't go wrong with this choice and it's one of the best bangs for the buck.

The Galaxy S - New From Samsung

Samsung have launched their first major assault on the ultra competitive smartphone market with the launch of their high specification Galaxy S model. And first impressions of the handset, with the extra large display and excellent speed on offer sure to win many new fans.

Samsung make very clever use of Super AMOLED screen technology in this new model, with excellent results. Unlike AMOLED, which comprises of two screens, one for the display and one to register touch, this new technology cleverly merges both screens into one single sheet. The result is a screen that is not only wafer thin, but also one that responds terrifically in sunlight, an area where many other mobile handsets falter. Thanks to this, and some very clever design, the manufacturers have managed to release this phone with an overall depth of just 9.9mm. The phones other measurements are fairly standard for a phone of this specification at 122.4 x 64.2, which may seem large but bear in mind that the screen boasts a massive 4" diagonal measurement. Another area where the display really excels is with media playback. The built in accelerometer chip quickly detects when the phone is on its side and adjusts accordingly, giving a superb quality widescreen image thanks to the excellent 480 x 800 resolution.

One area where the Samsung Galaxy S excels is with regards to the media facilities that it offers. Photographer will appreciate the impressive still camera facility. Despite being a fairly average 5 million pixel rating, the camera does benefit from a host of features that might otherwise be associated with a dedicated still camera. The phone offers manual white balance adjustment as well as a pre defined set of scene modes, allowing you to optimise the photograph depending on the type of photo you are taking such as landscape, portrait or sports. The phone also geo tags snaps, placing a geographical position on each photo thanks to the handsets built in GPS. The handset is capable of recording video footage which is in a very high quality 720P resolution. This is the minimum standard that is required to be classified as high definition. The footage is also recorded at an impressive frame rate of 30 per second, with the result being super sharp footage with great quality sound. The Galaxy S also supports video calling, thus a VGA quality front facing camera is installed on the front of the device.

The Samsung Galaxy S certainly seems a worthy contender to the iPhone crown. A superb screen combines with great looks and excellent specification and the result is a smartphone that will please the majority of users.

The Samsung Galaxy S and the Acer NeoTOuch P300 are available now.
